"unsung hero"

Before leaving you said,
"I was not the hero to live for in love".
"I was not the hero to die for in love".

I said, though you already left,
"Let me be your hero".
"You came to me like I was your hero".
"I was there for you,why I was not your hero".

I know:
You left me, as I was not your hero.
But I stayed where you left me, as I was your hero.
